El Ciego Melquiades

Un Ciego Melquiades, also called “the blind fiddler,” was the name applied to recordings by Melquiades Rodriguez. He documented both vocal and instrumental figures in the past due 1930s in San Antonio, playing within the fiddle-dominated design that had been falling out in clumps of style with Mexican-American viewers in south Tx. He also do some documenting after World Battle II for additional Texas brands. Instrumental polkas, two-steps, and waltzes which he was associated with acoustic guitar, violoncello, and string bass, mainly from the next half of the 1930s, had been reissued by Arhoolie around the San Antonio Home Party CD.
