Ekoplekz

Given birth to and raised in Bristol, Nick Edwards 1st found prominence beneath the guise from the jagged and dark consumer electronics of Ekoplekz through a string of self-released CD-Rs and person to person. Edwards became area of the growing Bristol dubstep picture, starting out like a music blogger beneath the name Gutterbreakz around the beginning of the 2000s (he in addition has stated that his was the 1st music blog to provide downloadable MP3s). Like a music and classic synth lover, Edwards had recently been documenting analog-inspired music for over 2 decades. The respectable Bristol label Punch Drunk released Edwards’ recognized debut 12″, Stalag No, this year 2010; it channeled the experimental loops from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop as well as the feverish energy of early dubstep, and drenched them in hold off and reverb. Plekzationz, released under Nick Edwards’ personal name, also made an appearance in 2012 on Editions Mego. Edwards extended on the idea of the Skalectrikz launch with alias Outfit Skalectrik, liberating full-length LP Trainwrekz on Editions Mego, and a break up 12″ using the Durian Brothers on FatCat Information, both in 2013. The entire year 2014 noticed Ekoplekz commence a relationship with Mike Paradinas’ Globe Mu label, you start with full-length Unfidelity, a far more accessible but still extremely experimental assortment of dubby, commercial consumer electronics. Some more Ekoplekz produces appeared on vinyl fabric that season, including Influkz on A LOT MORE THAN Human, Rock and roll la Bibliotek on WNCL Recordings, and limited twice LP Four Monitor Mind on Globe Mu. Entropik, another vinyl fabric discharge on Globe Mu, implemented in 2015, comprising two hypnotic sidelong paths. This preceded full-length Reflekzionz, another Globe Mu discharge highlighting Edwards’ even more melodic aspect. For his 4th record on Globe Mu, 2017’s Bioprodukt, Edwards appeared towards the ’90s for motivation, pairing 303 bass synths alongside the murky lo-fi visual he previously cultivated on prior records.
