This Icelandic recording act is a partnership between friends and studio partners Steindór Kristinsson and Bjarni Thor Gunnarsson. The duo consider their name from an Icelandic term indicating ‘means many audio resources that become one, or sound as one’, declaring that this moniker is specially apposite because it echoes the dynamics of their cooperation. Before the genesis of Einóma and their interesting, mysterious stress of experimental electronica, Kristinsson and Gunnarsson in the beginning collaborated on movies, composing scripts and using sound and video camera methods. As their desire for film reduced, the duo started composing their personal recordings somewhere within the experimental digital music that they state that they had been hearing for years as well as the atmosphere that that they had hoped to realize with their brief films. Einóma’s following experiments with tempo prompted the discharge of their debut EP, Floating Stage By No, via the regularly interesting Icelandic label Uni:type and tracks out of this launch subsequently appeared around the 42 Even more THINGS YOU CAN DO In No Gravity/Component One compilation of Icelandic ambient music. The name of Einóma’s 2002 debut record, Undir Feilnótum, approximately means ‘in a hardcore spot’ as well as the discharge appeared darker and even more oppressive than a lot of the neo-ambient music appearing out of Iceland. Kristinsson and Gunnarsson declare that their objective using the record was to keep a story started on Floating Stage By Zero also to be suffered with future produces.
