Efterklang’s post-rock tests were initial heard in Dec 2000, when child years close friends Casper Clausen (vocals), Mads Brauer (pc), and Rasmus Stolberg (acoustic guitar) — all 3 having recently moved to Copenhagen from your tiny Danish isle of Als — joined music causes with pianist Rune Mølgaard (piano) and drummer/trumpeter Thomas Husmer. Efterklang’s recognition soared in Denmark, with “Under Large Trees and shrubs” debuting at number 1 for the country’s singles graph. Several smaller produces implemented — the reissued edition of Springer, One-Sided LP on Philadelphia’s Burnt Toast Vinyl fabric, the five-song Under Large Trees and shrubs — and Efterklang released their third full-length, Parades, in Oct 2007. For 2010’s Magic Seats, Efterklang’s 4AD debut, Clausen, Brauer, Stolberg, and Husmer attempted a far more traditional rock audio by recording the essential tracks live like a four-piece before adding their customary lush plans. In August of 2011 the music group journeyed to the Arctic isle of Spitsbergen, an forgotten Russian settlement close to the North Pole. In Spitsbergen they spent amount of time in the forgotten town of Piramida documenting sounds around the decaying remnants from the town’s leftover commercial remnants, including large silos performing as reverb tanks as well as the world’s northernmost piano. This audio expedition offered a range of exclusive sonic textures along with the motivation for 2012’s isolated and shimmering full-length Piramida.
