Edward P. Harris

b. 22 August 1923, Leasburg, NEW YORK, USA, d. 22 Oct 1953, Newark, NJ, USA. Harris discovered electric guitar from his dad, and is thought to have already been an itinerant musician before settling in Newark, but his history is in any other case obscure. None from the information he produced between 1950 and 1952 had been ever released under Harris’ genuine name; he was variously referred to as Carolina Slim, Lazy Slim Jim, Jammin’ Jim, Paul Howard and Nation Paul. His music is certainly a blend, most likely acquired generally from information, of the modern Texas varieties of Lightnin’ Hopkins as well as the 30s North Carolina/Georgia music of Pal Moss and Blind Boy Fuller.
