Edward Hopkins

An associate of a considerable family of music artists, Edward was a chorister on the Temple Church in 1843 and shortly thereafter became the organist and choirmaster. The music at Temple Cathedral, under his path and a recently available recovery, became a model for various other cathedral choirs throughout Britain. Hopkins helped to present the faculty of Organists as well as the Musical Association. His treatise, “The Body organ: its Background and Structure,” is utilized today being a rich source on the annals of the body organ. “The Organist as well as the Choirmaster” was a periodical initiated by Hopkins.
