Edith Crash

Edith Crash is a French-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and one-woman music group. Her sound is usually a meld of passionate 21st hundred years chanson, folk blues, and brooding post-punk. Crash was created in Perpignan, France in 1983. She started playing acoustic guitar and writing tunes in her early teenagers. At 16, her family members relocated to Barcelona, Spain, where she immersed herself in the noises from the troubadour and flamenco customs, both which affected her expert acoustic guitar playing. Crash released her debut EP, Des Mots, while still in Spain and started working Barcelona’s membership circuit. She received a offer 2011 from Situations de la Música, Sala la Salamandra. It funded the documenting of her debut record, De L’Autre Côté, in 2011. She also received an Injuve Creación Joven offer from Spain’s Ministry of Wellness, Social Providers and Equality that season, which allowed her to tour. Crash was asked to try out Barcelona’s Primavera Audio and Let’s Celebrations aswell as leading a one-woman headline present in Argentina. In 2012, she came back to France and composed and documented with saxophonist Alex Augé, leading to the EP Inonde, released by Vagueness Information. She also have scored Florencia P. Marano’s brief film Aguas Santas; it had been presented on the Brief Film Corner from the Cannes International Film Celebration. In Dec she relocated to LA and started playing the membership circuit instantly. Her music made an appearance in movie director Jane Clark’s indie film Crazy Bitches. (She also came out in the film, performing a cover of “Crimson and Clover.”) Her monitor “Casser” was remixed by Sokio and found in Eli Roth’s horror film Knock Knock. In 2015, Crash released her sophomore full-length. Partir was motivated by and focused on her late mom, and made by Alain Johannes (Queens from the Rock Age group, Chris Cornell). She performed all musical instruments. She toured THE UNITED STATES behind the established and performed the 2016 SXSW Music Celebration. NPR’s All Music Considered selected her show as you of their “Preferred Discoveries and Memorable Occasions of SXSW 2016.”
