Edison Machado

Edison Machado was an excellent Brazilian drummer. Inventor from the samba o prato design (the samba defeat in the cymbals), he was an intrinsic area of the bossa nova since its inception, having participated in lots of albums, acknowledged or not really, like Sergio Mendes e Bossa Trio, Bossa Três, Rio 65 Trio, Victor Assis Brasil Toca Jobim, Rio 65 Trio, Sérgio Mendes’s Você Ainda Não Ouviu Nada!, Operating-system Bossa 3, among others. Within the ’50s, he followed most performers in Rio’s 52nd Road, Beco das Garrafas. In 1963, he released the LP Edison Machado É Samba Novo. Within the ’70s, Machado relocated to Europe and towards the U.S. Along with his Edison Machado Quartet, and produced the samba-jazz design popular, performing in a few of the greatest jazz night clubs and liberating the LP Obras in 1970.
