Eddie Montalvo

A Grammy nominee and regular collaborator with salsa crossover superstar Rubén Cutting blades, conguero Eddie Montalvo was created and raised in the Bronx. Developing up a enthusiast of salsa music, Montalvo began in the bongos, but turned towards the congas when he became a member of Julio Romero & the Latin Jazz All-Stars. Using the congas, he’d enjoy in the rings of superstars like Celia Cruz, Héctor Lavoe, Willie Colón, and Johnny Pacheco before signing up for the Fania All-Stars in 1979. In 1995 he released his initial solo album, BY MYSELF, while in 2001 he became a member of Joe Madera in his Big 3 Palladium Orchestra. In 2012 Montalvo released his second single record, Desde Nueva York a Puerto Rico. It might be nominated for any 2013 Grammy Honor in the group of Greatest Tropical Latin Recording.
