Neither the tenor saxophonist located in Chicago, nor the pianist and leader of Eddie Johnson’s Crackerjacks, this musician doubled on trombone and tuba in the ’30s and ’40s, taking part in in the rings of Jimmy Mundy and Benny Carter, amongst others. Gleam trumpeter from the same name, not really related.
