Eddie Erickson

Eddie Erickson is an excellent guitarist and banjoist, a fantastic singer, and an extremely funny ad-libber. Erickson, the boy of the amateur guitarist, began playing ukulele when he was seven. He in addition has performed trombone and cornet (including at Disney Globe) but ultimately resolved on banjo and acoustic guitar, which he started on when he was 13. He began playing expertly in San Jose within the middle-’60s and spent period operating at both Disney Globe and Disneyland. He was also an associate from the Banjo Kings. From 1978-1983 he led the Riverboat Rascals on the riverboat in Disneyland. Erickson and vocalist/washboard participant Sue Kroninger co-led Fast Eddie & Big Mama Sue for a long time, carrying out good-time music. He also caused the Abalone Stompers in Monterey along with cornetist Jackie Coon because the Jack port ‘n Ed Display. Erickson also led his personal recording for Arbors. Most significant continues to be his association with vocalist Rebecca Kilgore, trombonist Dan Barrett, and bassist Joel Forbes within the group BED since 2002. With BED, Erickson is a regular around the traditional jazz event and party circuit, documenting three CDs for the Blue Golf swing label. The group is usually a perfect community forum for his laughter, his vocals (“Easy Road” is becoming his signature tune), and his electric guitar and banjo function.
