A founding person in the initial Dixieland Jazz Music group, and an excellent rhythmic participant and force for the reason that group’s success. Edwards started playing violin at 10, after that used trombone at 15. He performed in regional New Orleans brass rings as an adolescent, included in this Stein’s Dixie Jass Music group. Then helped found THE INITIAL music group, and co-composed several pieces that became hallmarks. These included “Tiger Rag” and “Fidgety Foot.” He remained with the music group until 1925, aside from brief period within the military in 1918 and another brief stint in Jimmy Durante’s music group. He still left music from then on, but came back in 1936 to utilize various revival rings.
