Eddie Duran

Eddie Duran have been lengthy identified using the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA jazz scene, support many regional and visiting celebrities along with his tasty bop and classical-inspired business lead and rhythm acoustic guitar work. He began on piano at age group seven, but turned to acoustic guitar at 12, which he started teaching to himself after about seven weeks of lessons. He started playing appropriately at 15 and in the mid-’40s, used such visiting music artists as Stan Getz, Charlie Parker, George Shearing, Crimson Norvo, and Earl Hines. He’d be best-known, nevertheless, for his focus on Illusion recordings by Bay Region musicians like youth friend Vince Guaraldi, with whom he performed on trio periods in 1956, a Cal Tjader/Getz sextet in 1958, and once again within a Latin-tinged quintet and sextet in 1963-1964. Duran led his very own trio from 1960 to 1967, joined up with Benny Goodman’s orchestras from 1976 to 1981, and produced recordings with Tania Maria in 1980-1982. Finally, in the past due ’80s, Duran transferred to NEW YORK and arranged a quartet there. Oddly enough, Duran was also an authorized barber at onetime.
