Ed Dark took the pedal metal electric guitar and Dobro, traditionally nation & western equipment, in to the world of rock and roll music. Dark wasn’t the first ever to do that but he was perhaps one of the most unforgettable, having documented the distinct, screaming single in Linda Ronstadt’s “Sterling silver Threads and Golden Fine needles” as an early on example. Black began in Phoenix, AZ, around 1971 with an eclectic music group known as the Goose Creek Symphony. The group journeyed to LA where they exposed for Linda Ronstadt on the Whiskey a chance Move and Ronstadt, alongside her manufacturer, John Boylan, confident Dark and drummer, Mickey McGee to become listed on her music group. In agreeing with their give Black finished up playing on Ronstadt’s albums, Don’t Cry Today, Heart Such as a Steering wheel, and Prisoner in Disguise, touring with her music group in between produces as well. Dark left Ronstadt’s music group after 1975 and focused on his studio room prowess, showing up on albums by Tracy Chapman, Gene Clark, Dwight Yoakam, and several other high-profile performers until 1990 when his wellness started to fail. In 1998 the music globe was robbed of an extremely talented innovator in Ed Dark, who passed on at hardly 50 yrs . old.
