The nom de plume of Leeds-based singer/songwriter Joseph Lyons, Eaves’ melodic, minimalist, and melancholic folk invokes titles like Fionn Regan, Villagers, Bon Iver, and Nick Drake. Lyons, who cites such varied affects as Joni Mitchell, Opeth, Neil Youthful, Mastodon, and Dad John Misty, grew up inside a musical blue-collar home and started playing piano at an extremely early age. After switching to your guitar, he started writing his personal tracks and playing in his close friends’ high-school prog rock-band. After going to Leeds University of Music he started posting his tracks online, which ultimately caught the hearing of esteemed London-based 3rd party label Heavenly, who authorized the young designer in 2014. Documented at London’s Voltaire Studios with manufacturer Cam Blackwood, the causing What Green FEELS AS THOUGH premiered in the springtime of 2015.
