Growing up coding game titles for the Commodore 64 computer sparked Stephen Machnowski’s curiosity about building his have electronics, specifically synthesizers. He uses his home-built synths and drum devices for his E.M.S. task (the initials are a symbol of Electro Music Specialist). Inspired by electrical beats he noticed in new influx as well as the electro and rap breakdancers preferred, Machnowski has a robotic design of neo-electro that captured the attention from the Satamile label. After some singles, E.M.S. released a self-titled debut in the label in 2004.
