Duellists

Playing original materials motivated by English and French folk dance music, this one-off task was shaped in 1997 by piper Chris Walshaw and hurdy gurdy players Nigel Eaton (b. 3 January 1966, Lyndhurst, Hampshire, Britain) and Cliff Stapleton. With cittern participant Ian Luff financing extra support, the trio’s singular recording British Hurdy-Gurdy Music supplied a fine upgrading from the dance custom using the rhythmic interplay of Eaton and Stapleton’s hurdy gurdies towards the fore.
