DrugMoney

Using a sound that draws on influences in the Pixies, R.E.M., as well as the Substitutes, to Fleetwood Macintosh, DrugMoney takes participating and familiar pop agreements and has them with a fiery strength. The Asheville, NEW YORK music group was formed being a power duo in 2001 when previous solo acoustic musician Fisher Meehan became a member of pushes with drummer Paul Conrad. The group captured the interest of Cross types Recordings at a CBGB’s display and quickly agreed upon using the label. Bassist Costs Reynolds from the Sub Pop music group the Blue Rags shortly agreed upon on. Before getting into the studio room to record the band’s debut, Conrad still left the music group as well as the Blue Rags’ Mike Rhodes took over drumming responsibilities for the record. DrugMoney shortly found a long lasting drummer in Jamie Stirling, aswell as adding keyboardist Tyler Ramsey. The group documented their initial full-length, Mtn Cty Jnk in NY with renowned manufacturer Wharton Tiers. The record — a propulsive mixture of power pop and Frank Dark — premiered in January of 2004.
