After stints producing music beneath the names Work DMT and Salvia Plath, L.A. musician Michael Collins transformed his name towards the much less pun-based, but still provocative Drugdealer. Operate DMT have been a lo-fi psychedelic task starting in ’09 2009 that released a few albums before getting sued by an EDM music group from the same name. After changing the project’s name to Salvia Plath, Collins had taken a folkier, even more layered approach over the 2013 record The Bardo Tale. With Drugdealer, Collins transformed directions again, seeking to the vocalist/songwriters of the first ’70s and gentle rock and roll pioneers like Harry Nilsson for motivation. The band’s 2016 record, THE FINISH of Comedy, premiered by Weird Globe in Sept of 2016. Onto it, Collins asked many guests to contribute including Ariel Green, Weyes Bloodstream, Danny James, associates of Mild Great Membership, and Sheer Agony.
