Drowsy

The aptly named Drowsy may be the project of Finnish folk/electronic artist Mauri Haikenen. Influenced by such traditional songwriters as Robert Wyatt, Syd Barrett, and Smog’s Expenses Callahan, Haikenen includes subtle electronic details into his languid, mainly acoustic function. In 2001, he posted a CD-R of his music towards the eclectic U.K. indie imprint NOUVEAU RICHE BUSINESSMAN, who released Drowsy’s debut 7″ Careless Me by the end of the entire year. Drowsy also made an appearance on the NOUVEAU RICHE BUSINESSMAN compilation Branches and Routes in 2003; his debut album, Developing Green, found its way to spring 2005.
