Elmon “Driftin’ Thin” Mickle was a harmonica participant from Keo, AR, a stone’s dispose of from Little Rock and roll. He got his early harmonica teaching when he noticed John Lee “Sonny Boy” Williamson and Yank Rachell perform and contacted Sonny Boy to instruct him the rudiments from the instrument. From the middle-’40s, he was playing the neighborhood juke joint circuit with Sonny Young man Williamson II and Ruler Biscuit Young man drummer Peck Curtis while performing radio stints with channels KDRK and KGHI. In 1951, he previously formed his 1st band with local people Baby Encounter Turner and Junior Brooks and documented his first edges for the present day label. By 1957, he previously moved to LA, refurbishing his become a one-man music group, adding drums and acoustic guitar to his throat rack harmonica function. He documented sporadically, issuing singles by himself and other brands through the first ’60s. In the flush from the “folk-music growth” from the middle-’60s, Slim was rediscovered and documented for several collectors’ labels. From the turn from the 10 years, ill health experienced pressured him to retire from music so when he passed on in 1977, a section of American music — that of the one-man music group — had practically passed away with him.
