Dreams of Damnation


Originally formed simply by guitarist Jim Durkin and drummer Gene Hoglan in 1992 following a dissolution of seminal ’80s thrashers Dark Angel, Dreams of Damnation were an intermittent death metal side project that managed a three-track demo that same year, yet didn’t bypass to producing another official release before Allow Violence Begin EP eight years later on. At that time, Hoglan had very long since departed to are a hired weapon with famous brands Loss of life, Testament, and Strapping Small Lad (to mention but several), and Durkin had been backed by vocalist/bassist Charlie Silva and drummer Al Mendez. Released in 2003, the Vengeance, Pt. 1 EP would discover Dreams of Damnation further augmented by vocalist Loana DP Valencia and second guitarist Steve Gaines (ex-Abattoir, Bloodlust). Arrive 2006, Gaines, Silva, and Mendez had been all gone, changed by Rick Alsup on tempo acoustic guitar, Matt Arner on bass, and Miguel A. Moran on drums, for the Epic Stories of Vengeance launch.
