Wish City Film Membership was among England’s most under-rated rings from the 1990s. Propelled with the bombastic assault of bassist Andrew Recreation area and drummer Laurence Ash, as well as the sonic strength of guitarist Alex Vald, guitarist/vocalist Michael John Sheehy, radiated darkness with music about murder, sex, medications and assault. A veteran from the singer-songwriter circuit in North England, Sheehy produced Wish City Film Membership with Vald and Ash, two music artists who supplemented their income by making displays at Kentish City nightspot, the Bull & Gate. When Ash’s group disbanded, several months afterwards, Sheehy, Ash and Vald started playing jointly informally. The group shortly became a quartet by adding bassist, Andrew Recreation area. Producing their debut, on the Bull & Gate, in July 1995, Wish City Film Membership continued to execute throughout north London. Although a documenting of several music was financed by Epic, in past due 1995, the label refused release a it. The group acquired to stay for sharing an individual with Dublin-born and London-based vocalist, Suzanne Rhatigan, on the label associated with Sean Worrell’s fanzine, The Body organ. They later on released an EP on Body organ. Signing using the somewhat bigger, Beggars Banquet, label, Desire City Film Golf club released an individual, Perfect LITTLE BIT OF Garbage”. Although they started focus on their debut recording in Oct 1996, Vald became sick during documenting sessions as well as the task was delayed. Using the release of the self-titled debut recording, in 1997, Desire City Film Golf club reached out to some wider audience. Carrying out a documenting program for BBC disk jockey/maker, John Peel off, in Dec 1996, they embarked on 2 yrs of shows in France, Belgium and just about any corner of Britain. They recorded following sessions for Peel off in Apr 1998 and Feb 1999. Vald’s departure, through the pre-production stage of the second recording, In The Chilly Light Of Morning hours, resulted in Desire City Film Membership documenting the record being a trio. Although they continued release a another, EP, Stranger Blues, in early-2000, the group disbanded. Sheehy released a single record, As If AND IN ADDITION, shortly afterwards.
