Produced in early 2012, Irish indie quartet Dott tread the range between your sugary, handclap-filled melodies of early-’60s AM radio as well as the lo-fi fuzz of ’90s garage area punk. Located in Galway, the group is normally led by songwriter and guitarist Anna McCarthy with Miriam Donohue also on electric guitar, Laura Finnegan on bass, and Tony Higgins on drums. In the summertime of 2012, following discharge of their debut EP, Key, through Dublin’s Popical Isle Collective, Dott started touring the Irish and U.K. festival circuits and in addition produced their U.S. debut in NY. Their catchy distorted pop music caught the interest of American indie Graveface Information, which agreed upon the group afterwards that calendar year. In past due 2013, Dott released their debut LP, Swoon.
