Cuban singer Doris Lavin was hailed by Cuban trumpeter Lázaro Herrera among the timeless Soneras to sing salsa, putting her in such vaulted company as Celia Cruz and La Lupe. After creating herself as an in-demand vocalist in Cuba, Lavin relocated to Italy in 1996, which do nothing to reduce her occupied touring schedule. She’s performed with Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Félix Valoy, Patato Valdés, as well as the Conjunto Folklorico Naciónal De Cuba. A self-titled debut recording offering Dagoberto González and Alain Pérez premiered in 2003.
