Doretta Morrow


b. Doretta Marano, 27 January 1928, NEW YORK, NY, USA, d. 28 Feb 1968, London, Britain. This silver-voiced vocalist made an appearance on Broadway in Where’s Charley? (1948), and was after that ensemble as Tuptim in Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s The Ruler And I (1950), and was hence the vocalist to introduce ‘We Kiss WITHIN A Darkness’ and, in duet with Larry Douglas, ‘I Possess Dreamed’. After showing up in a tv creation of Knickerbocker Vacation (1950) and in the film Because You’re Mine (1952), with Mario Lanza, she came back to Broadway. She performed Marsinah in Robert Wright and George Forrest’s Kismet (1953), where it dropped to her to bring in ‘Baubles, Bangles And Beads’ and ‘Stranger In Heaven’. In 1955, Morrow reprised this function in the present’s London creation. She toured the united states in Fanny in 1957 which same year is at the London creation of Cole Porter’s Aladdin. After marrying, Morrow retired from your stage but passed away of cancer few years later.
