The origins of vocal group the Dootones could be traced to Fremont SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in LA, California, USA, where singer and multi-instrumentalist H.B. Barnum performed within a jazz music group along with his drumming friend Ronald Barrett. The Dootones had been subsequently produced in 1954 once the duo added Charles Gardner and Marvin Wilkins. Their preliminary work was as support singers/musicians towards the Meadowlarks and Penguins. These were entitled the Dootones in 1955 by their supervisor, Dootsie Williams, and produced their debut with ‘Teller Of Lot of money’ in Apr. A pop-orientated undertake R&B, it captivated regional airplay, while additional exposure was included with Californian trips with Etta Wayne and Jackie Wilson. Later on, Williams place the quartet as well as Vernon Green, previously from the Medallions, to get a Canadian tour, and produced his motives to remodel the music group as the fresh Medallions clear.
