Donald Kachamba continues to be attracting attention along with his music virtuosity since his early teenagers when he was called “the Malawian Mozart”. Regarding his sibling, Daniel (1947–1987), he brought the metropolitan dance music of southern Africa towards the global stage as the Kachamba Brothers. Since his brother’s loss of life, Kachamba offers continued to excitement audiences along with his combination of kwela, sinjonjo, saba-saba, huayani and simanje-manje. Kachamba offers toured across the world, carrying out in thirty-three countries in Africa, European countries as well as the Americas. Furthermore to carrying out concerts, he’s participated in symposiums and colloquiums on African music. Kachamba will become an artist-in-residence at UCLA’s Division of Ethnomusicology from November 1999 until July 2000.
