Biography
Through the mid-20th century Donald Hunt built a profession among the more important and distinguished English choral conductors. He’s most widely known for his interpretations of English sacred music and it has garnered much essential acclaim for his readings of functions for the reason that genre by Elgar, Finzi, Holst, Sumsion, William Llewellyn, Judith Weir, among others. However he has in no way been limited by the English world, as his extremely praised renditions of choral music by J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn, Liszt, and Bruckner will attest. Hunt in addition has composed a substantial body of choral and body organ music, the Hymnus Paschalis (1995), for three choirs, becoming among his most significant large functions. He has created several significant books, like the 1999 Elgar as well as the Three Choirs Event (Osborne Books). Hunt in addition has served like a lecturer at Leeds University of Music.
