Don Henry

Don Henry found prominence when Kathy Mattea’s edition of “Where’ve You Been” (co-written with Mattea’s hubby Jon Vezner) won every prize around the corner in 1990 and 1991. Henry was raised in suburban San Jose, CA, and relocated to Nashville in 1979, where he spent four years copying tapes for publisher Tree International (right now Sony/Tree) and became an employee songwriter there. He published music for Mattea, John Conlee, T.G. Sheppard, and Conway Twitty and received Tree’s Author of the Year honor in 1990 before documenting his first recording.
