Using its energetic mixture of straight-ahead rock and roll, funk, grunge and DC-style go go, Dogzilla was among Boston’s top dance bands from the past due-1980s and early-90s. While business lead guitarist George Hall, songwriting and solid acoustic guitar rhythms of Sean Brann distributed a lot of the limelight, Dogzilla continued to be anchored the cool rhythms of Washington, DC-born percussionist Jim Billbrough, bassist Andy McGuire and Keith Moon-like drummer, Fudge. The roots of Dogzilla track back again to the Archbishop’s Enema Fetish, a middle-1980s music group that had got itself prohibited from most Boston night clubs. Following the group disbanded, within the springtime of 1987, four users continued to try out collectively as Dogzilla. Adding Billbrough on percussion, they performed their debut display, as opening take action for the Deceased Milkmen, at Hampshire University in Amherst, Massachusetts. Although they released two amazing albums — Allizgod in 1991 and ALMOST ALWAYS THERE IS Something Wrong the next yr — Dogzilla was struggling to break to a nationwide target audience and disbanded. Hall continued to try out with Boston-based Globe beat music group, Seks Bomba.
