Dogwood

This contemporary Christian duo was formed in Nashville, Tennessee by childhood friends Ron Elder and Steve Chapman. Developing up in Western world Virginia, these were both sons of ministers and distributed common passions in gospel and nation music. After parting in order that Elder could head to university and Chapman sign up for the American navy, they reunited in the first 70s and begun to play concerts around the united states. As a go back to the Christian ideals of their upbringing they created Dogwood in 1974 as what they termed ‘a cellular, positive musical ministry’. A series of albums adopted, beginning with FOLLOWING THE Flood, PRIOR TO THE Fire. Successive produces helped introduce these to a wider Christian pursuing, genre critics concentrating on what Campus Existence magazine referred to as the duo’s ‘crystal obvious acoustics and vocals’. That status eventually resulted in noted artists like the Imperials and Boones saving the duo’s compositions independently records through the 70s.
