Biography

Like a composer, Djalma Ferreira had success with “Bicharada,” “Cheiro de Zdaudade,” “Recado,” “Lamento,” “Murmúrio,” and “Devaneio” (the second option four with Luís Antônio), “Volta” (with Luís Bandeira), and “Nosso Samba.” In 1938, he previously one of is own tunes, “Longe Dos Olhos” (with Cristóvão de Alencar) by Francisco Alves and Sílvio Caldas, documented for the very first time. Being a pianist, he proved helpful in elegant areas like the Resort Quitandinha (Petrópolis) as well as the Cassino da Urca within the ’40s. Along with his group Milionários perform Ritmo (including for quite a while the crooner Miltinho), documented several albums within the ’50s and ’60s and performed internationally, touring Peru in 1946. Time for Brazil, he caused the group, that was very popular after that, in nightclubs and animating dances. In 1963, he shifted to the U.S. and resolved in Hollywood, CA.
