Hardcore breakbeat dilettante Toby Reynolds may be the most successful of the number of suppliers who’ve recorded EPs (and occasionally, CDs) for South London’s Ambush Information. His edition of impossibly thick, chaotic Amen madness is at sighting range of DHR (Digital Hardcore), house of Alec Empire and Atari Teenage Riot. Reynolds, a regular hardcore clubgoer, experienced begun producing within the middle-’90s and installed with DJ Aphasic (aka Jason Skeet), and both founded Ambush in 1997. The next Ambush launch was Aphasic and DJ Scud’s co-production EP Thanks for visiting the Warren. By 1999, the solitary “Mash the area Up” had gained evaluations in NME as well as the Cable. In 2001, he remixed a monitor for Asian Dub Basis and released a break up EP with Panacea. The Rephlex label do vinyl-phobic listeners a favour in 2003, issuing the Ambush! Compact disc compilation.
