Having a predilection for the deepest and funkiest of deep funky house, DJ Rasoul (true name Guy Nado) did much to place the Bay Area within the map like a hip and happening place. Rasoul dabbled in every types of music as an adolescent but became seriously interested in house after starting up with San Francisco’s pioneering 3rd Ground Productions group in 1990. And the like, the group included such noteworthy heroes as DJs Digit — who continued to create the popular BPM Information label — and EFX. Through the entire early ’90s, Rasoul released his very own information and remixed for others under a number of monikers like the Mad African and Dredman. After that, following a short stint in London functioning mostly being a DJ, he came back house in 1996 to once again concentrate on creation work. Over another couple of years, Rasoul do no injury to his popularity by dealing with a few of America’s esteemed underground dance brands — Good sized, 83 Western world, and Guidance. During this time period, his Spirit Searching group of albums released on Huge proved especially well-known.
