DJ Gregory

Among France’s premier home DJs and suppliers, DJ Gregory began his saving profession in the past due ’90s, producing songs for labels Basenotic Information and Yellow Productions, before affiliating himself using the celebrated Africanism task and ultimately founding his own label, Faya Combo, in the brand new millennium. Two of his personal productions are “Tropical Soundclash” (2002) and “Elle” (2003). Given birth to Grégory Darsa, he became seriously interested in home music around 1990, when he started producing annual pilgrimages to NEW YORK to explore the city’s golf club scene. Through the early ’90s he worked well as an archive distributor, importing worldwide dance music to France. By mid-decade he was creating a name for himself like a DJ, especially appearing frequently on Radio FG in cooperation with DJ Deep. In 1996 DJ Gregory produced his documenting debut, “Consider the money on Work,” on Basenotic Information as Cheesy D. The next 12 months he co-produced “Faithfull,” popular cooperation with Julien Jabre as Fantom for the EMI subsidiary Resource. Through the entire remainder from the 10 years, he produced extra tracks under some monikers — specifically Bobby Ewing, .G, Prassay, Carinhoso Task, and DJ Gregory — for a number of labels, especially Yellow Productions, house of DJ Yellow and Bob Sinclar. In 2000 he started producing monitors as Africanism, a collaborative task on Yellow Productions; two of his productions within the series, “Stop Party” and “Tourment d’Amour,” became worldwide club hits. Set up being a hitmaker, DJ Gregory founded his very own label in 2002, Faya Combo, and released “Tropical Soundclash,” another feeling, that one billed to himself. His 5th discharge on Faya Combo, “Elle” (2003), was also a membership smash. In this same time frame, he and Bob Sinclar blended the double-disc Africanism (2002); plus, he and Julien Jabre created some tracks for Simple Recordings beneath the Soha moniker.
