DJ Format

Inspired predominantly by golden-age hip-hop from the past due ’80s and early ’90s, DJ Structure is a Uk DJ/producer associated with Genuine Information who dabbles in various other old-school breakbeat-driven designs aswell, as showcased in his selection of mix albums. Created Matt Ford in Southampton, Britain, DJ File format made his single documenting debut in 1999 using the British Lesson 12″ EP on Bomb Hip-Hop Information. He consequently remixed a few Mo Polish singles (Main Force’s “The Re-Return of the initial Art-Form,” 2000; Nigo’s “March of the overall,” 2001) and authorized a recording agreement with Genuine Information, a soul-themed subsidiary of Play It Once again Sam. The label released his Sick Culinary Behaviour 12″ (2002) as its inaugural launch, accompanied by the full-length recording Music for the Mature B-Boy (2003) and many extra 12″ singles spawned through the recording, especially “WE REALIZE Something YOU DO NOT Know” offering Jurassic 5 rappers Akil and Chali 2na. Within the wake of his well-received debut recording, DJ File format released the blend recording THE RIGHT Earful, Vol. 1 (2004) on Antidote Information and documented a follow-up studio room record for Genuine Information, IF YOU CANNOT Join ‘Em…Defeat ‘Em (2005). Like its forerunner, the record prominently features Canadian underground rapper Abdominal, who shows up on the business lead single (“3 Foot Deep”) and its own two follow-ups (“Separated at Delivery,” “Rap Machine”). Also like before, DJ Structure released a combination record, Fabriclive.27 (2006) within the wake of IF YOU CANNOT Join ‘Em…Defeat ‘Em’s critical acclaim. As the Fabric combine showcased his wide range of musical passions, DJ Format’s following combine record, Fania DJ Series (2007), dug also deeper, highlighting his curiosity about Latin spirit and boogaloo from the 1960s and ’70s. Many more combine albums followed on the next couple of years before Structure finally fell his long-awaited third studio room effort, Declaration of Objective, in 2012. As though to create up for the lengthy gap, he previously another record prepared to drop the next calendar year. While his prior efforts had highlighted several vocalists, The Foremost was his initial true duo record, with rapper Phill Many Chill showing up on every monitor and the set sharing identical billing over the cover. Arriving in 2017, Still Hungry repeated the secret, but this time around along with his longstanding collaborator Abdominal.
