Dixie Flyers

The sounds of bluegrass were imported into Canada by Toronto-based band, The Dixie Flyers. The past due “dad of bluegrass”, Costs Monroe stated, “the Dixie Flyers enjoy great bluegrass, they enjoy it the proper way.” Shaped in Toronto in 1974, the Dixie Flyers possess endured numerous employees changes. Just flat-picking guitarist Bert Baumbach and vocalist/mandolin participant Ken Palmer stay from the initial group. Although their preliminary sound was structured around harmonica participant Willie P. Bennett, following lineups have presented fiddlers included Gordon Strobbe, Peter Robinson and John “J.P.” Allen and banjo players including Denis Lepago, David Jack port, David Talbot and Walter Maynard. The sponsor music group for CFPL-TV display, Bluegrass Express, in London, Ontario, in 1985, the Dixie Flyers made an appearance on a every week radio display broadcast on CJBX-FM. In 1989, the group required over creation of the trunk 40 Bluegrass Event in Windsor, Ontario.
