Biography
Raised within the Midwest, Dix Bruce used your guitar at age 12. After university, he transferred to the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay Region, where he started employed in David Grisman’s music group and, from 1978 to 1984, co-edited the mag Mandolin World Information with Grisman. Also in 1978, Bruce founded the music group REGRESS TO SOMETHING EASIER & Push, highlighted on his record Tuxedo Blues. Furthermore to frequent program work, he completed a second record, My Folk Center and contributed first music towards the film documentary Crazy Tires. And he provides published many instructional books, tapes, and movies through Mel Bay Magazines. Bruce can be section of a electric guitar duo with Jim Nunally which has led to the albums From Fathers to Sons, JUST HOW Things Are, IN MY OWN Beautiful Wish, and 2003’s Brothers in mind.
