District Basement Collective

Washington, D.C.-centered electro-pop trio the District Basement Collective includes vocalist Alexandra Scott, turntablist DJ Boom (aka Jeremy Beaver), and bassist/co-producer Dex Dubious (Drew Kennedy). DJ Growth, who in addition has released five breaks albums by himself, started the Area Cellar Collective in 1998 when he was surviving in NY. Dubious, a previous computer science main, played in a number of projects before developing Thrift Device and touring with 2 Skinee J’s; he fulfilled DJ Growth at a gig as well as the duo started collaborating soon afterward. Scott, who analyzed classical guitar aswell as jazz and opera vocal technique, became a member of the District Cellar Collective after DJ Growth and Dubious experienced earned a cope with DCide Information, who released the group’s debut recording, Listen, in springtime 2001.
