Dirty Looks

Founded in the first 80s by Dutch-born Hendrik Ostergaard, Soiled Appears released three albums on three different 3rd party labels before attaining a major deal with Atlantic Files in 1987. Ostergaard managed both vocals and acoustic guitar, ably backed by Paul Lidel (acoustic guitar), Jack port Pyers (bass) and Gene Barnett (drums). Their main label debut, Great From The Cable, showed the music group to become purveyors of straight-ahead, no-nonsense power metallic quite definitely in the AC/DC mould. Both crushing design of electric guitar riffing as well as the vocal delivery of Ostergaard produced comparisons using the Australian supremos unavoidable. Nevertheless, such was the energy and dedication the band taken to documenting and live shows that their indebtness quickly became forgivable. The follow-up, Convert FROM THE Screw, had not been as effective, despite vital acclaim. Bootlegs noticed the band delivering the same design of relentless power boogie, albeit using a go back to a smaller sized label.
