Dios Malos


Hawthorne, CA’s Dios includes guitarists/vocalists Kevin and Joel Morales, bassist John Paul Caballero, keyboardist Jimmy Cabeza DeVaca, and drummer Jackie Monzon. The music group hails from exactly the same city that spawned the Seaside Males, Emitt Rhodes, and Dark Flag, as well as the previous two performers’ trippy wistfulness, as well as the second option band’s D.We.Y. visual all impact Dios’ strategy. The group created in 2002 and started documenting in Caballero’s cellar, issuing the Arboles EP in past due 2003 on Dim Mak. In the mean time, the group also continuing to try out live, showing up on expenses with rings including Pinback, the brand new Amsterdams, as well as the Polyphonic Spree. Dios was also tipped as you of NME’s 50 rings to view in 2004, soon before their self-titled, full-length debut premiered by Star Period Records. In summer time 2004, guitarist Ronnie Wayne Dio offered Dios having a stop and desist purchase, citing potential dilemma over his very own outfit’s name, Dio, and younger group’s moniker. In response, Dios transformed their name to Dios Malos. They released their self-titled debut under that name in fall 2005.
