Dimitri from Paris

In comparison to his cohorts in the brand new wave of People from france dance music, Dimitri from Paris appears much further afield for his affects. While both Surroundings and Daft Punk make a lot of their love for the music from the 1970s (prog and disco, respectively), Monsieur Dimitri’s motivation originates from the Continental jet-setting faux-jazz from the 1950s and early ’60s (exemplified by Dick Hyman, John Barry, and Martin Denny), although whole is up to date by his lengthy years of knowledge as a residence DJ.
