Dillard & Clark

Dillard & Clark, a duo featuring ex – Byrd Gene Clark and Doug Dillard from the Dillards, was among the first country-rock groupings to create in the later ’60s. The group produced in 1968 and became among pioneers of country-rock, launching two albums before dissolving after launching just two albums. In 1968, Dillard documented his first single record, The Banjo Record, which highlighted such rock music artists as Clark and Bernie Leadon. In the springtime of 1968, Dillard toured Britain as an associate from the Byrds, which resulted in the duo of Dillard & Clark, which officially produced later that summer months. The duo guaranteed a record agreement with A&M and released their debut record, THE GREAT Expedition of Dillard & Clark, past due in 1968. The record was documented with Bernie Leadon (electric guitar), Don Beck (dobro, mandolin), and David Jackson (bass). Dillard & Clark toured following discharge of the record; their helping band highlighted former Byrd Michael Clarke on drums. Dillard & Clark started recording another record early in 1969 with a fresh supporting band. The brand new lineup presented Leadon, fiddler Byron Berline, drummer Jon Corneal, and guitarist Donna Washburn; metal guitarist Sneaky Pete Kleinow and Chris Hillman, who have been both members from the Soaring Burrito Brothers, also guested within the recording. The producing record, Through the Morning hours, During the night, appeared later on in the entire year. After its launch, Leadon remaining the duo; he’d sign up for the Eagles immediately after his departure. Clark made a decision to pursue a single profession in early 1970. Dillard continuing his single career, using the rest of the members from the duo’s support music group as the primary of his fresh clothing, the Expedition. Dillard and Clark continuing to pursue single careers through the entire ’80s and ’90s, with Dillard garnering even more success and essential acclaim than Clark. Clark passed away in 1991 at age 46.
