Diego Ares

Diego Ares is a Spanish harpsichordist. He analyzed piano with Alis Jurgelionis and Aldona Dvarionaité, and harpsichord with Pilar Cancio, Jörg-Andreas Bötticher, and Jesper Christensen. At 14 he received first prize in the Primer Concurso de Piano RCN de Vigo, with 15 he received first prize in the Nikolai Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Paris. At 18, he visited the Netherlands to review harpsichord in the Royal Conservatory from the Hague with Richard Egarr. Ares offers toured mainly in European countries and Japan, providing recitals from the music of Padre Antonio Soler and Domenico Scarlatti, which he in addition has documented for Skillet Classics and Harmonia Mundi.
