Diedre Murray

Cellist Diedre Murray continues to be dynamic in creative music because the ’70s, and is well known for her function in the sets of Marvin “Hannibal” Peterson, Leroy Jenkins, and Henry Threadgill, and on her behalf very own compositions. While employed in Threadgill’s group through the ’80s and ’90s, Murray discovered a complementary collaborator in bandmate and bassist Fred Hopkins. In 1990, the duo co-led a quartet day which didn’t observe release before past due ’90s, but their next two duo recordings — Firestorm and Stringology — fared better, obtaining release around the Victo and Dark Saint brands.
