Die Mayrhofner

The folk group Pass away Mayrhofner was founded within the Austrian Zillertal in 1997, originally being a trio. Following dissolution of the lineup, heroically mustachioed vocalist and violinist Erwin Aschenwald produced a new music group comprising his sons Erwin Aschenwald, Jr. (accordion, keyboards, vocals) and Michael Aschenwald (drums), and guitarists Thomas Partl and Ulli Huber. Following the initial album with the brand new lineup, Halli Galli, made an appearance in 2000, the group became something of the institution, releasing one or more brand-new album just about any year, their unquestionably genuine and undiluted Tyrolean folk music blessed out of an authentic love for custom instead of any advertising gimmick.
