Although his name isn’t identified by most rock fans, Dick Taylor was a significant figure in 1960s British rock as lead guitarist and frequent songwriter for the Very Things, and it has deep ties to the overall birth of the British blues-rock scene. A teenage friend of Mick Jagger, he went to the same sentence structure school within the London suburb Dartford, and started using Jagger in the first ’60s within the group Small Boy Blue & the Blue Young boys. Keith Richards began using them aswell, as well as the group evolved in to the Rolling Rocks, adding Brian Jones.
