Dick Pearce

b. 19 Apr 1951, London, Britain. An excellent, clear-toned, lyrical trumpeter and flügelhorn-player, Pearce shows his uniformity and creativity over a decade with Ronnie Scott’s music group, playing frequently at Scott’s membership and on the highway. He got trumpet lessons at age 13, but trained himself theory. From 1968-71 he is at the military, where he performed in the music group, and on release he became a member of Graham Collier, with whom he proved helpful from 1971-72. Aswell as Scott’s quintet he provides used Mike Westbrook, Keith Tippett, Dudu Pukwana, Chris Biscoe, Brian Abrahams, and Gil Evans’ UK Music group. In Sept 1990 he was wounded in a motorbike incident, and was out of actions for some weeks, but by the finish of 1991 he was back again leading his personal quartet. In 2000 he performed some evocative trumpet around the Umbrella People’s debut recording Selling Water FROM THE River.
