Dick Garcia

Electric powered guitarist Dick Garcia taught himself the instrument at age 9 before ever taking any kind of lessons. He used Tony Scott’s quartet in 1950, after that worked before middle-’50s with Charlie Parker, George Shearing and Joe Roland. Garcia once again played and documented with Scott in 1955, also documenting with Milt Buckner, Lenny Hambro and his very own rings, while also documenting with Johnny Glasel and Bobby Scott. Garcis continuing in to the ’60s touring and documenting with Shearing and Kai Winding.
